Landscapes from several viewpoints

Bukit Mentigen

Bukit Mentigen - viewpoint Mt. Bromo

Bukit Mentigen is better known under the name Mt. Pananjakan II. This top is easily accessible on foot from the nearby village Cemara Lawang. It is a hike of about 8 kilometers only. You can see the sunrise at around 04.45 - 05.15, early morning. It is said that the view doesn't differ that much from Mt. Pananjakan. If you are a slow starter early morning, it might be an idea to see the sunrise from this viewpoint.

Bukit King Kong

King kong hill or Bukit King Kong - viewpoint Mt. Bromo

Bukit King Kong -  also known as Bukit Setya - is one of the alternatives. One can find this viewpoint about 2,5 km from Mt. Pananjakan at an elevation of 2,600 m above sea level or about 800 meters lower than Mt. Pananjakan. A paved road leads to this viewpoint.
The viewpoint King Kong is getting more and more famous, as Mt. Bromo during the touristic high season - July and August - can be really crowded. Visitors are looking for alternatives, and bukit King Kong is an interesting alternative.

B29-viewpoint

B29 viewpoint - south of Mt. Bromo

The viewpoint B29 is less known compared to Mt. Pananjakan, but gets more and more visitors. It sits at an altitude of 2,900 meters above sea level and is the highest peak at the rim of the caldera in which one can find Mt. Bromo. This peak is situated southeast of Mt. Bromo in the village Argosari Senduro, about 40 km from the small city Lumajang, within the National Park Bromo-Tengger-Semeru.
The stunning scenery with the cold air and typical plants for the highland plateau make the viewpoint a very interesting attraction. If you look in the opposite direction of Mt. Bromo you will see Mt. Semeru. One can find a  typical mountain village atmosphere with vegetables such as cabbage, potatoes, carrots, and red pepper on the hillsides. The terracing of the fields is neat and organizes a beautiful attraction.
